Artspace Cinderford invites you to an evening of cultural contrast on
Tuesday 28th September 7.00- 9.00 pm
at the New Mercury, 3 Woodside Street, Cinderford
when we are launching
We are Barton Street
an exhibition first seen at the Guildhall Gloucester generated by a collaborative project between Art Shape and GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers), which captures, conserves and celebrates Gloucestershire’s multiple heritages and the divers and vibrant life of Barton Street. Professional artists and local residents worked together at community venues around Gloucester, to create art that expresses personal memories, journeys and experiences of community.
The exhibition includes animation, photos and sound recording and aims to delight and challenge audiences across Gloucestershire and reveal the common aspects that affect all our lives – family, stories, songs and the struggles and joys of daily life.
In response to We are Barton Street, Artspace has produced
On Cinderford
a short animation using photography, the spoken word and ambient sound recording captured by members of the local community which expresses the flavor of life, thoughts, passions, and feelings of some of the people living in and around the town at the heart of the forest.
and we are delighted to welcome
Ali Rezza
