‘Found in the Forest’ Youth Theatre moves to Artspace
Youth Theatre moves to the Artspace's New Mercury building in Cinderford on Sunday 28th February 2010
‘Found in the Forest’ is the exciting youth theatre for young people living in and around the Forest of Dean. They are moving to the New Mercury at 3 Woodside Street, Cinderford, home of Cinderford Artspace, with whom they work in partnership
Found in the Forest is open to all young people with or without special needs, working together, and we welcome new members at any point during the term.
Our sessions are friendly, relaxed and a safe place to get creative, meet new friends and have a lot of fun along the way!
In our weekly sessions we look at acting and drama in a number of different ways. From looking at making up new plays from scratch, creating scenes and filming them like T.V. and movie stars, using masks and much, much more! Sometimes we use words but we also learn to express ourselves without them.
And don’t worry if you’ve never done any drama before! Our classes are designed for all abilities and we’ll help you get the best out of them! It’s alright to feel a bit nervous about coming along to the first session but we’re sure you’ll enjoy it and have a lot of fun!
As well as our weekly classes we also run special one-off projects during half terms and the summer holidays. These are a great way to fill up some free time you might have and perhaps do something a little different!
Past productions
We’ve got a great history of running some exciting productions since we started the group in 2006. These include a Cluedo-style Murder mystery, George Orwell’s Animal Farm, a Flash Gordon radio play, and various film and outdoor theatre performances.
Collaborations with Artspace have included a foreign exchange and a circus/drama project and we are looking forward to more in the future now we are under one roof!
