Artspace Cinderford empowers young people through creative opportunities and provides a safe and welcoming environment at the New Mercury. The New Mercury Youth Arts Centre was launched in 2003 when we moved into the building. All our regular projects have grown out of ideas and requests from young people. You decide what you want to do and where the project is going; we provide friendly, experienced arts practitioners to teach you the skills you need to make your ideas happen – even writing funding applications if you need extra money to do it!
Everyone is creative and there’s something for everyone. Why not come along and try something new that you don’t do in school, find out how to combine different art forms into a new project, talk to us about your ideas and, above all, have fun. You’ll make friends, learn new skills and develop your confidence and self esteem.
Our current regular programme includes projects in visual, performing and digital arts for young people aged five to eighteen years old and beyond. Work you produce by getting involved in any of these projects can count towards an Arts Award if you decide to have a go at one.
There’s something for everyone. Most sessions cost £4 for 2 hours.
